A rebrand for Engram Software, bringing a more expressive point of view to a company operating in a traditionally restrained engineering category. The brief was to move away from the expected, stodgy visual language of software companies — the corporate palettes, technical seriousness and polished neutrality — in favor of something more human and alive.
The mark draws on the idea of a trace or imprint — from gram, meaning something written or recorded, to engram, the physical trace of memory. It suggests patterns, connections and movement, sitting somewhere between a neural network, a constellation and a diagram of a system. Bold color and type bring energy to the brand, while the underlying system remains structured and highly adaptable.
